>Some time after the airship's return...I stabbed the shovel into the bed of dirt, finally finishing the burial process. Afterwards, I kinda stared at the bed for a long while, so did Quags.
We tried to think of some words to say, but nothing really came up. Neither of us were really suited for this type of thing, silence just seemed to be the best way to deal with it
That is, until I broke it.
"One day I'm going to fucking outlive everybody I know, I swear to god."
"We should get going, don't you think?"
I nodded, "Yeah. We should. It is getting late, after all. Let's make sure to come back and pay a visit next week. It's the very least we can do."
"Alright."
Quags walked off, I still wanted a bit more time, so I just continued to stare at his tombstone for a few more moments. It was ironic, but a cruel kind of irony.
I looked at the Sky Plate that the Chief Fletchling had given to me, even though it seemed drastically important, I decided against keeping it. It felt....wrong. In a way.
"Here, you went through all that risky trouble just to find a way to keep on chugging. Even though you failed, in the end, this is what you earned, and I think it's best that you keep it."
I left the Sky Plate in front of tombstone, and I walked away.
I didn't look back, because I couldn't.
