There's a massive fucking gap in your self-awareness for THIS to be your response whenever people mention Light Type. Yes, Dark Type is Evil. . . . So then, why THE FUCK would you, therefore, assume that Light is just literal Light???? Why are you THIS dumb? When people say "why isn't there a Light Type", we already KNOW Dark means Evil, obviously, holy shit. We're asking why there isn't a Holy Type to match Dark's Unholy, a Saint to match its Sinner, Angel to Devil, pure Altruist to pure Wickedness, etc.
Holy and divine attacks are a common thing in these types of RPGs. But they wouldn't CALL it Holy/Divine here in English, they'd only do it in Japanese. So the Holy Type people are asking for WOULD BE CALLED Light Type, just like how Dark Type's name doesn't fully reflect what it is.
To further clarify, Fire and Electric are the Types Pokémon mostly uses to cover themes of PHYSICAL light. But when people speak in terms of INNER/MORAL light, i.e. being a good person, they speak of distinctly different things:
>righteousness, heroism, justice>represented by Fighting, to a lesser extent Bug>innocence, compassion, a lack of any malice, a caring heart and refusal to harm others>this is fairy>saintliness, virtue, angelic pureness, spiritual, truthThat last one (while it is slightly Fairy-ish), is what people are asking for out of a Light Type.
