Of the gears themselves I believe each could not have been better rendered. I think honedge doesn't need to evolve, except to Aegislash whose shield disturbs the elegance of Honedge. Melmetal is a boring bigger evolution, and Vanilllite needed a more interesting evolution than bigger cones, a la Sandygast or Trubbish. I personally think it would be cool if it evolved into Aurorus. Klefki and Dhelmise are challenging. Anyone could design a monster like Hoopa with more animal anatomy, but that would disturb the sincerity of Klefki's character, which is communicated well by some strange features that become meaningful as you open to strangeness. Dhelmise is even more successful at that, and is to me the most impressive design in the game. Magearna has some good TGC art which depicts her as being more robotic and solid than cutesy s in official art. Remember to never trust official art when judging a Pokemon's value.
