And then she goes back to take care of her mother, which imo is basically just diving back into the narcissism again. She also had free tickets to freedom she never took advantage of (living with Kukui and having a brother who also lived by himself). Maybe it was supposed to show that her mother managed to still have control over her even when she was living away from her, I guess. To me, all this just screams "I'm free but only when he says it's okay". Far from me to imply a video game has to be educational, because fuck that shit, but I don't think it's a good message at all.
I also have issues with Lusamine because of the jelly fish influence taking away all her agency as a villain. She could've been very believable without that, at least. Also, I hate that as a female character, most of her conflict revolves around family. Bore.
