Primal reversion is Kyogre/Groudon absorbing power from nature (as opposed to the power of bonds and mega/keystones as with mega evolution) and assuming more powerful forms, with the "reversion" implying that the primal forms were their usual form in the distant past when they fought. Dialga/Palkia would probably get something like 'ascension' or 'limit break', to assume a form more befitting a creature capable of bending space-time. The original DPPt even have Team Galactic documents stating that capturing such a powerful creature in a Poke Ball puts a limit on their potential strength, although that always sounded like pure wankery bogus to me without further elaboration.
