All of these issues and more have been rectified since XY, which is where the series actually got good. Seriously Pokemon has only improved over time in its mechanics, features and content. Nostalgiakeks need to fuck off.

There's nothing wrong with this when the fights are designed with your team being fully healed in mind. It's just less time spent healing in menus between fights, another QoL victory.

This game is the game saving this series from being stagnant. They addressed so many QoL features it’s insane actually. The wild area and raids are amazing. This game actively made changes that needed to be made for over a decade and added some new gameplay ideas that flow well for what Pokémon is. If they keep striving to make as many significant changes from this point on for each entry. Pokémon is going to be somewhere truly great in the next couple games.
