>>14389185That's actually a major issue I find here. I don't think this was a tasteless maneuver at all. If we really want to compare it, you should compare it to the other 'filler' generations (gens 4 and 2). Gen 2 was about putting in mechanics they neglected to put in, as well as pokemon they didn't have the time for. They tried to make it work, but all in all they didn't do enough to fix up the core of the game, which hurt it horribly. Gen 4 did similar, introducing fixes to a lot of old pokemon, but trying to do more than what it could handle with the setup of the gen itself, leading to an overall damaged experience.
Here, it seems that they have realized that since they're doing rebalancing and revamping of everything, they shouldn't be going too far with the product, instead focusing on making more new quality products instead of trying to reach some arbitrary quotas.
This feels bad to some people because they like the idea of getting to play around with new things, but at the same time all the changes they've made have created a plethora of new things.
That's the major thing I dislike about /vp/; most of them seem like people who played the first two, cut out of pokemon for a while then got back in later, and as such have a bit of tinge to their opinion that damages their view of the bigger picture when it comes to the game's designs.
