Puts a lot of emphasis on relationships, and treats loyalty to his family, friends, and Pokemon as so important he's willing to risk his own well being for them. Calls every person he meets and some objects "dude". A starry eyed dreamer with a natural talent for battling, he left his hometown thinking only of living up to the ideal of being a Pokemon Master like Red or Brendan. What he didn't expect was to be caught up in the whole Team Plasma mess. Over the course of his journey the cruel realities of the world became more apparent to him. Even after becoming Champion, everything felt so empty to him, and after a few years he retired and went to look for N. After finding N and having a nice long talk, Hilbert found his way back to Unova to reconnect with everyone. He's still the same friendly guy, just more aware of his surroundings. Caught Victini and acts as a sympathetic listener for the other protagonists. Is a big brother to Nate and Rosa.
