I wonder what it would have been like if instead of full 3-D models, extra work and resources were put into sprites that took the step BW(2) did in terms of animation and really stepped the game up. Attack animations, hurt animations, really thorough idle stances, stuff like that. Maybe even a return of following pokemon - which, while perfectly doable in HGSS with simple sprites of 493 pokemon, would be near impossible nowadays, since they would have to develop full overworld models of 700+ creatures (although theoretically they could just scale down the battle models, but it might look like shit)
