>>51624261>TOTT: What's the stupidest idea for a story you've considered but haven't written? When I was younger, I saw an alignment chart-esque picture with various legendaries on it
One of them was for Giratina, and I think it had something about preserving one's freedom at all cost
This lead to an idea of a number of humans being pulled into a sort of dreamspace with many idols corresponding to various Gods/Legendaries. I was an edgy teenager at the time so Arceus' at the center had this bewitching effect to it, and most of the people were drawn to it golden glory first and foremost, but the protagonist eventually snapped out of this bewitchment before he joined this particular covenant and instead found his way to Giratina's, framed as him being "tormented god" that now valued freedom above all else now that he had been stripped of his own for so long
Protag-kun awakes in his bed and, suddenly unable to bare the thought of depriving another of their freedom, tosses the starly he had caught the other day's pokeball out the window on release-and-self-destruct (something to do with twisting the button in a certain pattern iirc)
Twenty years pass after that, with the protag having learned that being Chosen now leaves him untouched by time and disease, so he hasn't aged a day and could theoretically live forever, if the main mission of those Arceus Chosen wasn't to go and seek out the Chosen of other gods and kill them with weapons made of golden energy. He was able to stay under the radar for the most part though, due to Giratina Chosen having the ability to dip in and out of the distortion world as a means of transportation wherever a door exists, and using it as a home base for the few that do exist
One of these chosen had found his niche as a quartermaster of sorts over the centuries that he had lived and rarely left the Distortion world at that point
