>>47818506>How are the Machamp fans taking this new age of prosperity? It is a glorious age, OP. The Champ is getting the recognition it deserves.
Machamp was my first competitive mon. This bro here has been my ace since the Sinnoh games. This is the story of how I became Machamp fan.
Prior to gen IV I didn't care about competitive; I just filled the pokédex.
An online friend helped me evolving Haunter and Machoke. The idea of having Gengar and Machamp in my team was incredibly cool, they were the epitome of ghost & fighting types since gen I in my opinion, so I put them in my team. They felt like those rare, unobtainable final evolutions.
The online friendship faded away and then I got SoulSilver. In order to transfer my collection without a second DS, I would upload shitmons to the GTS in SS asking for the mons in my collection in Platinum. Quickly I would enter the GTS in Platinum, find my own offer and trade the entirr pokédex one by one to SS.
Then the tragedy happened: I got too lazy. In order to save time, I would use the same Pt session to receive the shitmon and immediately offer a good mon for a shitmon from SS. Since I used to complete all the trades in like a minute I never had a problem with my mons being taken away by some other player, until it did fucking happen. My precious Machamp was traded for some random kid's retarded shitmon.
I felt so bad for my stupidity. That Machamp was a bro that could not be replaced by just any other Machamp. So I decided the only option was to learn about competitive and get a perfect version. Read about EVs, IVs, natures, etc. I was excited for No Guard - Dynamic Punch. I actually EV trained it 1 EV at a time fighting wild mons.
That first competitive mon, honoring my first Machamp, has been with me in every single game. As soon as he got into gen 8 I gave him Gigantamax factor. And I main Machamp in Pokken and Unite.
