Every time I replay a game I make a point to use a team of pokemon I've never used before. I can't play games blind anymore because of this, I have to plan out my teams beforehand to make sure they're balanced and don't overlap with past playthrough teams.
It's partially for completionists sake but also to give other mons I may have initially looked over a chance.
When new gens get released, I always try to do my first playthrough of them with only new pokemon. I LOVED this about BW and my only complaint with XY is not that there are only 70 or so new pokemon, but that said new pokemon are difficult to find with how extensive the regional dex is.
I name every single pokemon I catch.
I always name them in all caps too, like how they were named prior to gen 5. It just doesn't look right without it.
I never really understood why having legendaries as favourites was looked down on. I tend to like legendaries the most in any given gen. Pic related, it was love at first leak. Which is a horribly mangled sentence but it's my second favourite pokemon now and I haven't even played XY yet
