Sinnoh is such a beautiful region, with top tier music and aestetic, but I'll be damned if it's not just mired in horrible, almost spiteful choice after choice.
There is zero excuse for me to have 7 gym badges and be fighting a trainer using a fucking Wurmple. No trainer after the first route should be using a fucking Wurmple. The lack of variety and unwillingness to lean on the cooler and more varied Pokemon until the absolute end of the game just feels terrible, and is really unfair for such a cool region with such likeable characters.
Yes, Platinum helps alleviate a lot of issues, but we cannot ignore the sins of the father just because the son strove to be better, especially when we're now looking at "faithful remake" as a threat more than a promise in the future.
