This is something Game Freak would totally do. They hate anti-meta and show indifference to rampant and repetitive meta, otherwise they wouldn’t remove moves and prevent Pokémon from learning or inheriting moves that made it popular for a very good reason, i.e. Knock Off on Weavile.
