Doesn't mean humans don't marry humans and pokémon don't mate with pokémon. Just means that everyone's allowed to find their own happiness that suits them. Remember, it's only pokemon who *want* to be caught appear in front of humans in the first place, if a pokémon doesn't want to be found by a human, it wont allow itself to be. People think there's something sinister about catching pokémon, calling it enslavement. A pokémon decides if it wants to join you or not, just as it decides of it wants to face you or not. And much like how it happens between boys and girls all the time in the real world, if a human and pokémon spend long enough as a pair, they can find love blossoming too.
