They recently made this new updater (which it seems all of reddit loathes they are making a shitstorm over it and are comparing it to the whole anarchy vs democracy shit I mean jesus leddit). Anyway, they'll still end up using it. It has the stream but also TELLS YOU WHAT TO DO. Where your going, a poll of two or three options it seems, shit like that. So, basically, by the end of the day Reddit is going to have control/influence over whatever they do. Yeah, they have anarchy now (and have been going in a fucking circle for hours, but the democracy mode would have been fucked). But doesn't matter. Hivemind WILL equal reddit, and their will.
