Well shit, yesterday I was talking with my mate about having everything at my finger tips this run with the exception of a Psychic type, I was banking on picking up a Drowzee or something later on since I didn't think I'd get lucky enough to grab the Abra but that ended up being exactly what happened. Now I have a cliche as fuck, near picture perfect gen 1 team (for this stage in the game anyway) lined up.
Because of this, I was extremely confident I was going to body Misty, especially with a team like this but I made a slight rookie mistake which could have turned out so much worse than it did but luckily I had the forsight to grab one of my low level mons that I didn't plan on training out of my PC to use as a scapegoat if anything did go wrong (which it kind of did). I lead with my Kadabra and made short work of the gym trainers + Misty's Staryu but I had a pure brainlet moment and thought that Staryu was mono water type. I basically got it mixed up with Psyduck + Golduck in the same way that they're psychic-looking but are mono water, so my Kadabra was walled but worse of all it gave just enough time for the Starmie to gain the initiative, especially now that Misty gave it an X-defend. Bubblebeam was tearing up anything I switched in to so I did what I always do when I'm in deep shit, I put all my chips on the rat but I needed to get it in safely so I sacked my Pidgey (rip) to provide that opening and then Nash just tore that thing a new asshole. Should have went a lot smoother but eh....
Anyway, now I'm free to evolve my Nidorina which should wall Lt. Surge completely unless I'm missing something. Feeling extremely confident in all honesty, I've endured my shitty fire starter to this point but now he should start coming into his element soon too.
