I also like Stevens overall character design, it's not too overdone but he still looks unique. On the other hand, Cynthia's design is even more iconic, and it's hard to pull of a "last boss dressed entirely in black" without it resulting in an edgelord design. And she carries Milotic and Gastrodon, both Pokémon I fucking love.
And while the twist that they were the champion all along never surprised anyone, I did like their characters even before it was revealed.
Why would the Steven Kings and Cynthia Chads waste energy fighting each other, when we could all join our hands and hate the actual trash champions like Leon, Wallace orAlder, who look ridiculous and have shit teams as well as shit personalities?
