A lot of the mons you find ugly I don't see as ugly at all, especially this regions electric rodent, I like this design far more than pachirisu, emolga and plusle/minun, I do wish they didn't use a colour palette so close to raichu though. Also pokemon changing and changing back has beena thing since generation 3 with formes, these ones are just temporary and in battle, which has been a thing since generation 5 with Darimanitan and Meloetta. It is hardly even close to digimon if a select few final evolutions only get extra formes like other pokemon already have, I really wish they didn't use the name mega which would get rid of a lot of the 'digimon' comparisons, but I guess japan was in charge of picking the name, and mega isn't a stage in the japanese digimon. Also as long as designs don't go like pic related pokemon will never look like digimon, digimon put far too much detail, colours, nuts and bolts into their designs.
