Alola, and by extension Galar, give the player the most freedom by having the map be front and center with the markers. That's not a waste of space, that's the "agency" buzzwords that Unovabortions are always complaining Gen 7 and 8 don't have even though the newer games have far more optional areas than Unova and Kalos combined.
