Crystal's challenging and fun at all the gyms and the pokemon league until you reach kanto
Then the game is like "you just beat the elite four who had level 40-50 pokemon?" Here have literally every single trainer in Kanto have level 30 pokemon.
Kanto was a monotonous slog of killing everyone in one hit up until red where I was 20 levels below his pokemon.
Sweeping red's overpowered team using curse quagsire and defence curl, rollout miltank was fun af though.
