>>46415809I do also think that this art style (done properly, ofc) would be a better route to go than a swsh style remake in one way- it would mean that under the strict deadlines they develop under, they could spend less time creating assets and more time adding in features everyone wants, like HGSS did. Making proper assets would still take slightly more time than what they're doing now, but compared to the style of assets and the workflows needed to produce them for a swsh style game, you could add way more unique assets this way.
They aren't developing this for the love of it, though. They're developing it because fans are expecting it, and it would minimize backlash the open world game gets.
