Ok so I have a honest question.
I see people saying stuff like this:
>I made a step forward instead of picking my rod now my chain is ruined
>I accidentally put on my rollerblades now my chain is ruined
>catching the shiny stops the chain
How do we know this? It's pretty clear by now that chain fishing works, but any of the above statements just seem like gambler's fallacy to me. Why would catching a pokemon stop the chain but running or killing it not? Last night I was chaining and I failed to oneshot a Dragonair and it Dragon Tail'd me, would that stop the chain? If my pokemon runs out of moves, can I give him an Ether between fights or does this stop the chain?
With chance statistics like these people should always be very wary of making statements
