I got into Pokemon from the anime. I loved animals as a kid, and still do now, so it was cool seeing animals with super powers. The games are fun, but one thing that bummed me out was that you could never interact with your Pokemon, like Ash with Pikachu. HGSS adding following Pokemon made me ecstatic because I could finally interact with my Pokemon pals. I think Gens 6 is the weakest gen, but I'm glad they introduced Amie as a way to feed, pet, and play with my Pokemon. I hope all future gens keep allowing you to interact with your Pokemon outside of battle. I also like the SM anime for being a slice of life series. It's nice to see people and people living like comrades instead of the Pokemon just being used to battle.
