I'm writing a story that (at some point) is going to involve a character traveling through the multiverse for various worlds and I wanted to have a "Pokémon-exque" world.
I have no problem making up my own creatures, but if there were so actual-kinda-sorta-not-really Bootleg Pokémon I could use, so much the better. (It's always fun to play with shared 'toys.')
It sounds like the answer to the question is "it is complex" so when I reach that point maybe I'll just come back here and see if anyone active on on this thread who created one of the sage-Pokémon feels like granting me permission to use their creation specifically in my story. (Thus bypassing the complexities of 'the project at large.')
And if no one bites I guesll I'll just be using OC's like Dagupan, Flowasp, Garret and Metazul.
