Inkay quickly became my favorite pokémon of Gen 6 back when I played Y, with all its weird and unique features. Its pokédex entry describes how it uses hypnotic lights on its cap to flee from predators.
"It flashes the light-emitting spots on its body, which drains its opponent's will to fight. It takes the opportunity to scuttle away and hide."
With that in mind I'd always sort of assumed they were weak foragers, scooping up berries and loose food while fleeing from other territorial mons. But just like every other entry in Gen 7's pokédex, it reveals a darker side of the pokémon's diet.
"It draws prey near with its blinking lights and then wraps them up in its long tentacles and holds them in place."
It isn't TOO surprising that this thing is carnivorous, of course things like the anime weren't going to show anything like that. But it does make me very curious... just what sorts of creatures could Inkay actually eat??
