And that's Red defeated and Crystal done with. Luckily he sent out the 2 mons I was worried about, Espeon and Snorlax, right at the start. Weakened Espeon a bit with Adamantine before switching to Cream and finishing it with a shadowball. Then we healed back up with Milk drink, exchanged Body Slams, swiched back to Adamantine and finished it off.
Fight stopped being scary then, Vesuvius beat Venusaur and Simple beat Blastoise (hit 2 Zap Cannons in a row) and Charizard. Beguile was there too.
I've made an exception this time and added Big Mama the Nidoqueen to my champions roster. While she didn't actually make it to Red she did survive the battle against the champion and we didn't add any new members to the team, so I've decided it counts. Would feel wrong not to.
So that's Crystal over and done with!
>>55057090Already starting off with the best starter, Froakie's cool.
>>55055441That's the Riolu of destiny, make sure they make it to the end.
>>55053770I find that stall tactics usually are simply worse than just having attacks in single player runs. Stealth Rock especially tends to do little because opponents have small teams and rarely switch out. I'd say make use of Blissey's enormous movepool instead.
>>55049948Wooper (if you're willing to level it) and Tentacruel are both very solid picks. Doubling down on a type also isn't that big a deal, especially since you're not gonna use Nidoking for poison moves anyway. Adding Drowzee and having 2 elemental punchers also doesn't hurt, it's a strong gameplan and one can pick up if the other gets hurt.
You could also still get Politoed from Poliwag, I think Perish Song could synergize nicely with Forretress.
