Imagine how horrible diamond and pearl would have been if they only allowed pokemon founds within its regional dex. Seeing how ORAS took too many pages from Ruby and Sapphire and not enough from Emerald also makes it entirely possible that DP remakes would have an extremely horrible pokemon roster because it won't be based on Platinum's.
