I have a feeling that's going to happen since almost anything from the games is adapted into the anime(Rainbow Rocket, but I doubt the other villains will show up), but if not that, it's the fact that Giovanni actually is more active in this current series, frequently keeping in contact with the TRio more than usual, throwing in some OC background about how he and Nanu know each other, and how he seems very interested/knowledgeable on the folklore behind U-Necrozma.
