They're pretty soft, in that their feathers have a lot of sorta springy give to them, but they're not fluffy-soft like cats are. They probably feel more like that if you reach past to their down feathers, but that's probably bad for the bird, so don't.
But like, the left bird in picrel probably weighs under 4 lbs, as most of that bulk is feather.
Beaks and claws are obviously not soft at all. I've heard feet are warm and less scratchy than they look, but I haven't really been stepped on by birds.
