X/Y and ORAS were signaling a decline for sure, but then it seemed like they stopped fucking around when Sun and Moon dropped, the game had an actual story this time and the models were good, new pokes were okay and although the characters weren't expressive at all they seemed to be doing something new with the introduction of the UltraVeasts. So when USUM comes out everybody expected it to be a sequel to sun and moon and it was just a Sun and Moon DLC. Then after that, LGBT gets announced and it goes right back down the toilet. And now we're at the point where none of the Pokémon look exciting, they're blatantly reusing animations instead of tastefully or subtly reusing them, we have less Pokémon, the textures look like dogshit and I'm contemplating turning my back on this series for good
