>>30248466I don't think GameFreak wanted to implement any sort of artificial EXP reduction. At least it makes sense that lower levels provide less EXP; you don't get better from beating on things weaker than you.
Maybe I'm just biased and I have no problem waiting a few days. I don't see any rush to get to level 100, and I think people complaining endlessly about the slow EXP rate are impatient children spoiled by X/Y handing you things on a silver platter. The system could be better, but it is what it is. If they don't like it, they can jump onto simulators like everyone else.
