So I just tried out competitive pokemon for the first time on pokemon showdown gen 9 OU. I first wanted to do some fun pokemon I like in UU and below. Realized quickly that they were below OU for a reason.
After some team building I managed to grind up to 1350 from 1000 with a standard OU team. And I got stuck there for a while. But I realized all games were the same, and I kid you not, I made the same movements with the same pokemon as my opponent for several matches.
At the end of each match it would either come down to who missed the thunder wave, who got a crit first and who made a random move that made no sense. But worst of all was whoever won the speed tie.
Then it dawned on me how stupid it was to play this and I went back to shiny hunting on my DS. I will never play competitive pokemon again because it is soulless and takes no true skill.
