Some people in the previous threads were discussing the idea of using fire-types+Garbotoxin Garbodor to counter Solgaleo GX/Magnecrozma. Here is an idea I have come up with and tested: Turtonator/Ho-Oh/Garbodor. Based on my testing, I find it already works really well against many of the current top-tier meta decks, and it’ll probably get way better in the future.
Basically, you search out a Kiawe to power up a Ho-Oh/Turtonator on turn 1, then try to fire off 180/160 damage attacks every turn after that, using Garbotoxin to slow your opponent down. The 4 Choice Band and 4 Po Town allow you to take 1-shots on every relevant GX in the format, including Gardevoir. I also play Enhanced Hammer to help with Gardevoir, too.
I have come up with 2 builds for the deck: one with Burning Energy, and the other with Max Elixir. My testing has focused on the Burning Energy build, and being able to use Turtonator’s Bright Flame over and over again with virtually no drawback is very powerful. But, the Max Elixirs can allow you to power up a second attacker faster while your attack with the first one, so that build may be better in some situations.
Give these decklists a try if you’re looking for something a bit more rogue, while being able to go toe-to-toe with the current metagame. Any thoughts on how to improve it?
