After the big boom of it being a mainstream phenomenon it will play it extremely safe/get stale, never reaching it's pinnacle again but due to having a big amount of hooked for lifers it will be profitable for the foreseeable future.
Another similar trait they share is pandering on nostalgia (Attitude Era for WWE while Genwun and remakes for Pokemon) in hopes to increase their fanbase but ultimately these people enticed in rarely stay.
