The M8 Arc also didn't do any of it's champions justice, it was supposed to feel like every champion we've known for the past 25 seasons led up to this moment and it ended up just being a generic tournament arc with zero stakes. The animation certainly didn't help, Ash's Team was an Absolute Joke, with half of them losing almost every match they were in and the only two carrying the tournament being Pikachu and Lucario. Whether Ash wins or loses next week or even beats Leon or loses to him, M8 will officially take BW's spot as the most underwhelming tournament arc of the entire series, not just that, Journeys will forever be remembered for some as the worst series of the anime.
