I feel like a good chunk of what goes wrong for me tends to be due to bad luck (at least half of my deaths must have been due to criticals), but otherwise I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong, too. Call it hubris, but I also kind of go apeshit with rules: on top of what you do, I also tend to ban items, and lately I've been trying to go without using centers or rest spots altogether. It just feels wrong to power level or item spam, though.
