The story was pretty cringe-y though. "Curly" as a nickname? I guess it's better than a random Japanese name.
I didn't like how it was a grim ending with an epilogue pointing out the lack of a happy ending. Felt "dark and edgy" in a bad, 'written by a 14 year old who plays Linkin Park loud enough to damage his ear drums' kind of way.
You did warn it would be "autistic and edgy" though.
