>>55129968A lot of us started liking him pre-Indigo Disk. The story of Teal Mask ends up with him going full psycho and it caused a lot of yandere fantasies to spawn. Obviously Gamefreak would never go through with anything like this, but for a while, people had their perfect rival that could be anything they wanted. It's hard to let go of the perfection that was pre-Indigo Disk Kieran so people still retain their delusions. A bit harder now with the lackluster canon but still viable.
