I'd definitely try and challenge the league, and if I can't become champion I'd settle for a position as a Gym Leader. I'd probably also go explore Pokémon mythology and hopefully meet some Legendary Pokémon. Would I catch them? Probably not. Not out of lack of trying, just because legendary Pokémon would be so much more powerful in reality.
