I thought of awhile back how a new Gen could be based in Italy and have a lot of Greco-Roman influences for themes. The biggest being that the evil team want to summon the middle trio member of Hades, which are based off of Zues, Poseidon and Hades. Evil team would be like a cult.
I thought of the teams goal being to "reunite the Dead with the living" and the big villian actually has a bit of a touching backstory: He was also a child prodigy trainer like the main character but an accident happened and his bag of his six Pokémon dropped into the ocean, never to be recovered. So he while he presses the goal of resurrection, its really a personal gamble
