The Gen 4 remakes look ugly. But at least they're not Let's Go. Honestly, another Let's Go style remake would have been the final nail in the coffin. If BDSP have better Pokemon distribution than the originals, a Battle Frontier, and maybe some new content, then I will consider them a sucess. I much prefer a faithful remake over a Let's Go zombie any day.
The Legends game looked and ran like dogshit. But the concept is genuinely cool, and the new gameplay mechanics caught my interest. If the franchise continues to build on these new ideas (immersion, open world, freedom of movement), then I have a glimmer of hope for Gen 9.
I was fully expecting today's direct to disappoint me. Instead, I was confused and surprised. It's not much, but I'll take it.
