It's great movepool is letdown by terrible power unless you use powerful attacks in which case you have accuracy issues. It would be great with something like thunderwave but you don't get that, and it doesn't get screens so it can't really set up.
Rather entertainingly if you throw bastiodon out against Cynthia's spiritomb she'll switch to lucario or garchomp so you can swap out to someone else and snipe them.
