Pupitar and Shelgon are both entirely encased in a shell. They don't even remotely resemble their previous form in color scheme, shape, or design.
Quiladin on the other hand still looks like Chespin. He's got the same color scheme, the same design, and honestly, doesn't remind me of a cocoon at all.
The vibe I'm getting from Chespin is that with each evolution, the plant he wears on his body consumes more of him. I'm assuming his final evolution will be covered in even MORE plant, and will be bulky.

Why would you give up on him in the first place? He's adorably goofy. Anyone who dislikes Quiladin is most likely just looking for some edgy cool Pokemon and thinks that just because it looks silly that it's automatically lame.
