Finally beat Juan, deathless even, after a ton of prep, I was pretty nervous about it JUST because of that damn Double Team Rest spamming Kingdra. But I'm very thankful for that issue about me needing a surfmon, I was initially going to bring Tropius for Sunny Day + Whirlwind shenanigans but thank god I didn't. Walrien ended up being a perfect wall against Kingdra.
I was REALLY wanting to lead with Castform, but I couldn't risk him getting infatuated while setting up the sun, so I just went with Sceptile to take out Luvdisc and Sealeo. But then came the Kingdra.
I went into Walrien and attempted to Encore it into Double Team, but ofc it missed. Then I tried hitting it with Blizzards, but ofc it missed multiple times, eventually hitting it hard. I swapped to Absol during his healing turn to initiate my wacky strat, Perish Song force switch. It worked and was able to take out the Whiscash he brought in, but out came the Kingdra again.
This time however I was able to successfully encore him into Double Team, so I switched into my Guts boosted Swellow to hit some Aerial Aces, but encore wore soon so I had to do multiple switches to get Absol back in safely (and thankfully with no confusion) to Perish Song once again. During the perish counter wait, I set up Hail for chip damage.
Finally, I switch into Manectric to take out the Crawdaunt, and when his Kingdra came out once more, I decided to risk it and hit a Thunderbolt, which thankfully killed.
Sorry for the long post, but this battle was pretty nutty. It's funny this is the second time I used Perish Song against Kingdra, earlier I did so against Clair in Crystal, but her AI is predictable so I was able to take it out with it.
