>>58324117I'm starting out with AniMay, yes.
>respecting the continuity and not ignoring it or bending it for convenience of the premise makes for a more enjoyable productI agree.
>VNhas choices that shape the personality of the character making them and of course change the course of the story.Good point there, I'll think about that.
>>58325802>>58325944My other, less pathetic Anon idea was him being a normal Pokemon trainer, who doesn't understand Pokemon Contests or thinks they're weird. Then he bumps into AniMay, who eventually shows him what Contests are about and why they're so important to her. This is the first or main topic of conversation they'll have in most encounters, as the basis for their friendship. Of course, running parallel to Contest talk are them secretly developing feelings for each other. They'll talk about other stuff too eventually. Then smut.
>slow burnI'd like to do that, but I don't have infinite free time to work on this either. So I'm limiting the scope early on. This anon
>>58294987 suggested AniMay's story last one week. A week isn't a realistic amount of time for two characters to form a true bond, but it is a more realistic scope for me to finish writing the story, instead of it getting stuck in development hell. Though I could also use timeskips to spread out Anon and May's meetings more over the course of a month or a year.
>>58325977I'll stick to post-DP pre-Journeys AniMay to make my life easier.
Mays are also iconic for wearing the same outfits and getting confused for each other. I'm going to limit any outfit changes (if any) at first so I don't go insane. If I ever finish a route, I'll consider adding more. For now I've simplified the scope to this:
AniMay - Emerald and goatfucker Contest outfit
RSE game May - RS default and Go-Goggles/Dowsing Machine variant or Emerald outfit
ORAS game May - ORAS default and ORAS Contest outfit
Sapphire - blue and jungle outfit
