>>47599557roark defeated. they really give a shit ton of options for dealing with him early game - i wasn't able to get something like geodude or phanpy who can set up on the nosepass, so i used a mix of wooper, beldum, and ludicolo (using roark's elemental stone) to beat em. wooper takes down nosepass and geodude, beldum takes down cranidos, ludicolo takes out onix, larvitar, and bonsly.
did end up having poliwag die to the jubilife rival thanks to not realizing his piplup had water pulse and my plan of having poliwag putting it to sleep didn't really work. also lost the route 207 encounter, a rhyhorn, who was just too strong and too risky to catch. other than that, smooth sailing
