Your healing will be low if your damage is low. And your damage won't be good unless you raise your attack or crit at some point. Also the sidemons are weaker so even unbuffed you'll heal a good ammount from them.
If you have Leon or Marnie they together with Xerneas make the whole thing easy mode because of MP Rekindle. Otherwise I suggest you bring a striker that's dumb strong that also uses special attack and can buff their own crit, like Red.
