The whole system sounded like it completely lacked any sort of quality control and it really does paint GF as consisting pretty much entirely of rather novice developers at best and entirely incompetent at worst.
At the same time though, I can't help but feel things would've gone better if something in the "gear project" managed to turn out alright. GF's dev team would be incompetent either way, but at least the corporate leaders and bigwigs in the company wouldn't be broken soulless husks of men, entirely ruined because they know they will never be able to find work if it isn't creating content for the electric rat. The "gear project" seemed like a genuinely fantastic program on paper that gave anyone the ability to make games that they wanted to, in an industry that's otherwise completely dominated by sales figures and trends. Shame everything turned out like it did.
