It seems to be in an odd middle ground of being just old enough to lose the recency boost but not being old enough to make an impression like the older outfits. Also that particular Jasmine thread was relatively inactive and even died early so only the most hardcore Jasminefriends even saw it, and they'd naturally lean towards her classic appearances.

Big Jasmine would use her size to help Pokemon, like ferrying them across the ocean on her back. (though it might take her awhile to get over the embarrassment of being so big and possibly growing out of her clothes).
